When you happen to know of some of the professional connections of these people through chance or not - it does get interesting. For instance Ford Elsaesser happens to be from the same law firm of Magistrate Barbara Buchanan of District 1 who works/worked with our newly appointed District Court Judge Benjamin Simpson. His (Elsaesser) office is right on the corner near to the Charlie Nipp and Goodlander enterprise. I am sure this is just happen stance, but it does lend speculation to the Schweitzer Basin mess years ago that involved Edward E Lodge - the federal judge who is married to Patti Lodge who chairs the Idaho Health and Welfare Committee and the Judicial Committees in our Idaho Senate. Elsaesser is a bankruptcy trustee. In other words the banks love him and so do investors. NAH - that is not a problem! Not that there is any significance to this relationship or not - it's just kind of entertaining to see who gets "in" or not and how it affects our daily lives through lawsuits. We all know it is supposed to be judged unbiasly and ethically but, is it especially significant when they all know each other? NAH, no conspiracy - just an example of an very small world and the ramblings of another "looney." Do a search on who is funded through these law firms. It's entertaining as well.

The wonderful thing about OpenCdA is the education we readers get on a regular basis. I have many friends who read this blog and never comment. However, it sparks some interesting private conversations. The above article is one of many that enlighten the public.

The recommendation came or will come from Walt Minnick as the ranking Democrat from Idaho. In January 2009 Minnick selected a committee to give suggestions to him. The committee was Barry McHugh, Mike McNichols, Trudy Fouser, Terry White, Ford Elsaesser, Tim Hopkins and Pat Olsson. We don't know who the committee recommended to Minnick, but Idaho Assistant U.S. Attorneys Deborah Ferguson and Wendy Olson have been mentioned as likely candidates. Minnick says he only passed one name to Obama, but we don't know that name.

Who makes the suggestions for the US Attorney nomination? Does the Attorney have to be local, or can they come from elsewhere? I'm certain that if the local cabal could get their thumb in that pie, they would.
