The February 27, 2009, Idaho Business Review reported the Idaho Attorney General’s Office is asking the Senate State Affairs Committee to revise Idaho’s Open Meetings Law. The IBR article was written by Brad Carlson and headlined Idaho Senate panel mulls Open Meetings Law revision.
Carlson’s IBR article says, “The proposed changes to the Open Meetings Law reflect input from attorneys, news organizations and public agency officials.” That’s an interesting lineup of players. A little more identification would have been helpful. (more…)
I’m pining for Spring. (pun intended)
We haven’t had an open session for awhile. There’s a lot going on, so any comments, ideas?

Here is a most excellent cartoon drawn by an OpenCdA reader, Adrian. Such talent! Thank you Adrian!

(Boise) – The Attorney General’s Office has concluded an investigation of allegations of conflicts of interest regarding Lake City Development Corporation (LCDC) chairman Charles Nipp. Attorney General Lawrence Wasden’s office notified Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney Barry McHugh that the Attorney General will not be filing criminal charges. Today’s Coeur d’Alene Press reports that the North Idaho College administration has finally begun to formulate a campus evacuation plan.
The newspaper failed to ask a very obvious question: Why didn’t Christie Wood, the present Chairman of the NIC Board of Trustees, push for an adequate campus all-hazards emergency response plan long ago? (more…)

And proud of it. My wonderful husband of 30 years, 4 kids and a 25 year old business and I are both Parrotheads, which means we enjoy Jimmy Buffett’s music. Why do I tell you this?—it has nothing to do with local issues. Well, apparently business is slow over at the Spokesman Review’s gossip blog, so they ran a photo of us, similar to this one, from the Buffett concert down in Vegas last October. Who knows where they got it, and I don’t care. It’s important to have fun and it balances out our lives. Cheers! Or as Parrotheads would say, “Phins Up!”
If you were reading the Saturday, February 21, 2009, Coeur d’Alene Press and made it to page C4, you may have seen the headline “Public meetings slated for hazard mitigation.” If the headline stimulated you to read on, then you already know some — but not all — of the following information. Regardless, this is information you should have. (more…)
