Obstruction of Justice?

Green Congress Call for ImpeachmentOn Wednesday, May 17, 2017,  US Representative Al Green (TX-9) addressed the House and called for President Trump to be impeached.  Green alleges President Trump committed an impeachable offense, obstruction of justice.

Green was not the first nor will he be the last to allege obstruction of justice.

To help members of Congress better understand ‘obstruction of justice,’ the Congressional Research Service published a report entitled ‘Obstruction of Justice:  An Overview of Some Federal Statutes That Prohibit Interference with Judicial, Executive, or Legislative Activities.’  The 89-page report was dated April 17, 2014.

  1. Seriously? The report is just details and more details. A politician does not need to know details before opening his/her mouth. If details were required before a politician speaks, it would be awfully quiet in washing town and the congress persons would have to actually work on something or else schedule more recess time.

  2. Tributary,

If you had said, “A politician does not need to know facts before opening his/her mouth. If facts were required before a politician speaks, it would be awfully quiet …,” I would have agreed completely.

Public officials keep us up to our belt buckles in details, but that’s akin to writing a book that contains all modifiers but no subjects or verbs.

  3. Now, that is funny. Methinks your post has strayed into details.

  4. Tributary,

Yes, those pesky details keep getting in the way of much more interesting uninformed rumors, especially for the skews media when they’re on deadline to hyperventilate speculatively about some topic on which they have zero subject matter knowledge.
