If you have been surprised, even shocked and dismayed, by the efforts to subvert the presidency of President Donald J. Trump, the two books shown above should be on your read-soon list.  Both are available from the Community Library Network.

But before you read the books, you will want to read this online publication entitled Democracy Matters — Strategic Plan for Action.  The person behind this plan is David Brock.  It was begun on November 9, 2016.

Brock’s groups (Media Matters, American Bridge, CREW, and Shareblue primarily seek to remove President Trump from office.  They also seek to encourage local groups to use the same tactics to discredit and attack state, county, and municipal officials.  For example, see The Indivisible Guide webpage.  Do a bit of searching on this webpage and you’ll find Indivisible North Idaho.  Go to Indivisible North Idaho’s Facebook page to meet and greet your friends and neighbors.

In none of these documents will you see words that could be properly characterized as unlawfully seditious or inciting to illegal acts of violence.  Violence, however, does further their purpose.  News coverage of acts of violence (e.g.,  Charlottesville, VA) does get the public’s attention.    Biased and intentionally deceptive by omission news coverage shapes public opinion.

Some of the disruptions at state legislators’ townhall meetings across the country (remember the red and green cards?) were scripted and choreographed.  Do some research into the Town Hall Project to help understand and recognize the techniques used.

Many citizens do not attend town hall meetings  or forums to disrupt; they attend hoping to ask questions and get complete and informative answers.    Possible disruption at an elected official’s meeting is the “draw” that now gets the news media to attend these meetings and allocate more column-inches and photo space in print and more airtime during  broadcasts.   If the meeting is disrupted, the disruption rather than the quality and completeness of the official’s answers and comments dominates the news story.

OpenCdA hopes the books and documents we’ve suggested will help you better understand “How shady political operatives and fake news control what you see, what you think, and how you vote.”   We also hope they will help you better understand and reject “the outrage industry.”

  1. I’ve been looking for such books, so thanks for the reference. I’ve always held that some people go to meetings for one of three reasons. They have information to give, they want to get information or they want to arm their own prejudices. But now sadly, it appears there is a fourth reason; they want to disrupt.

  2. Gary,

You’re welcome. I hope you find the books informative. Mary Ham is a writer at The Federalist and a CNN political commentator, and Guy Benson is the political editor of Townhall.com and a Fox News contributor. Sharyl Attkisson is a former reporter with CBS, PBS, and CNN. Attkisson devotes an entire chapter to David Brock, the architect of the plan to drive President Trump from office either through pressure from our cowardly congressional delegations, impeachment by the aforementioned co-dels who would prefer to betray the voters who elected President Trump than jeopardize their own ($$$) political future, or as a last resort, other means. People who dismiss the persistent attack on President Trump as “just politics” are ignorant fools.

  3. This liberal attack upon the United States of America reminds me of a group of really bad complainers who are never happy, always complain, and can ruin the entire morale of a workplace or a family. In this case, it is our nation. Their domestic terroristic silent attacks are weakening the fabric of the United States and if they are successful, they will be solely responsible for what they may achieve, and that is the ultimate destruction of our government. I wish they would do as they say and move. A Missouri Senator actually published a statement advocating for the assassination of our President. This is the kind of hatred that is destroying America and fueling these anti President underground groups. They are nothing but a fabric of hatred akin to a bizarre cult, approved by ignorant politicians like Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal. It sickens me to see our nation succumb to such negativity fueled in my opinion, solely, by the sore loser liberal agenda mindset which is dangerously sinister as well as massively ignorant and weak minded.

  4. Stebbijo,

Like you, I saw Missouri state senator Maria Chapelle-Nadal’s uttered threat. While the threat was uttered, I suspect that when the USSS’s protective intelligence agents interview her (they will — unless the USSS has been completely castrated/politicized by its incorporation into the Department of Homeland Security), they will determine if she actually poses a threat to the President or to herself. She very well may. As anyone who lives in Idaho knows, being elected to public office is by no means a validation of loyalty, integrity, discretion, morals, or character.

However, my contempt and disgust does not stop with the liberals/Democrats. There are far too many supposedly conservatives/Republicans who are more than happy to quickly and shamefully abandon the President duly elected by the citizens who voted for him. Even in supposedly conservative/loyal Idaho, our alleged Governor Clement “Weasel” Otter, both of our US Senators (Crapo and Risch), and one Representative (Simpson) sought to quickly distance themselves from President Trump’s fact-based, non-prejudicial, and perfectly appropriate statement about the C-ville demonstrations that led to Ms. Heyer’s homicide. Only Idaho’s Representative Raul Labrador stood tall with his statement. Naturally, the agents of influence posing as a skews media reporters in Boise tried (unsuccessfully) to put Representative Labrador’s comments in the least favorable light.

But you are correct. The democrat/liberals and many imitation conservative/Republicans expected Hillary Clinton to win in 2016. The Dim-erals were crushed by the defeat and the Republi-cons were completely unprepared for a Trump presidency. Everyone in between who has become thoroughly disgusted with the partisan rabidistas struggling to salvage their parties to the detriment of the country is being screwed by the Democratistas, the Republicanistas, and the skews media and the media’s owners.
