On Friday, February 16, 2018, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office released a federal grand jury indictment naming 13 Russians and 3 Russian companies as defendants.  The indictment alleges the defendants interfered in the 2016 presidential election.

Here is a link to the 37-page indictment issued today.

The indictment itself is a far more reliable and complete information source than the news media for the details of when, how, and by whom the offenses against the United States were allegedly committed.

  1. I could not read this fast enough, I need to go back and read it again. This is way better than any news story. The Russians were definitely successful in creating strategic discord in our country.

  2. Stebbijo,

Thank you for wanting to take the time to read the indictment, because you’re absolutely right. Newspaper and broadcast reports tend to be interpretive rather than informative based on the material the reporter was able to comprehend.Too many of the skews “reporters” lack the subject matter knowledge they need to write truly informative stories. The best and most complete information is in the original document for those able to take the time to read and understand it.

The interesting stuff describing how the Russians approached their information warfare activities begins in the indictment on page 4 under the heading Manner and Means of the Conspiracy.
