Mayor Sandi Bloem will attend the Mayor’s Institute on City Design Western Region session next month in Portland, where she will present the Education Corridor Master Plan for Coeur d’Alene. “The opportunity to present a project and have it critiqued by a group with this kind of knowledge is a rare opportunity,” Bloem said.
What amused me, no angered me, according to the news account, is they are sending one of thier experts over here to help her prepare her plan that we have been begging for so she can present it to their liking. So I guess we read about “THE PLAN” in the Oregonian Newspaper. Geese, let me outta here!

Do we know if the meeting in Portland is open or closed? Perhaps some interested folks from Coeur d’Alene Might want to attend. Perhaps there will be some printed handouts etc. Lets find out the date and time and publish that information to Coeur d’Alene tax payers.

When we cast our votes for John McHugh, Ron Edinger, Ray Stone, Al Hassell, Steve Judy or any other mayor you can think of; we didn’t vote to have them become the chief urban designers of our city. Was that part of Mayor Bloem’s platform? Read about the Portland trip on the city’s website. This meeting appears to not be open to the general public.
