The “It’s just like Tubbs Hill” mantra was probably thought of by the same charlatans who use the “It’s for the kids” argument. Both are bumper stickers disguising tax increases or covering up for irresponsible spending. Diversionary tactics. The problem with both is that you can only best use them legitimately and infrequently for the impact to be there. Otherwise, just like repeating any word or phrase over and over, the potency vanishes:
The Kroc Center is for the kids / The Kroc Center is another Tubbs Hill
Lakes remodel is for the kids / Lakes remodel will be another Tubbs Hill
The Dog Park is for the kids / The Dog Park will be another Tubbs Hill
Riverstone Park is for the kids / Riverstone Park will be another Tubbs Hill
The Education Corridor is for the kids / The Education Corridor will be another Tubbs Hill
The LCDC is for the kids / The LCDC is making numerous Tubbs Hills
