Our County Clerk

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 8:05 pm

As the Kootenai County Hall of Administration went up in flames, County Clerk Dan English was heard to cry, "To hell with the voter records - save my Tote-a-Vote business records! We can fabricate new voter records on my next visit to friends in Canada!"

  1. Perhaps you need to explain the “Tote-a-Vote” reference, Bill.

  2. Mary,

You’re right. Tote-a-Vote is Kootenai County Clerk Dan English’s business on the side — or maybe from the inside, eh.

  3. A friend of mine said he saw a Dan English for County Clerk sign just across the border at East Port the other day. Question, do candidates have to report their Canadian campaign expenditures? What about Canadian funds being donated to their campaigns? someone should tell Cliff not to bother going after the Canadian vote, English apparently has it sown up.

  4. So does the county/state contract with English for this tote it thing?

  5. WannaBe JD,

It would be difficult for English to report his campaign donations from his Canadian Friend(s). For one thing, trying to report loonies and twoonies on a report that goes to Boise would be confusing to Idaho officials. When the report says “loonie” and “twoonie,” someone down south might think they were talking about Wasden and Ysursa.

  6. The picture is a hoot! The only thing it needs is, Dan holding a violin.

  7. I heard that the entire first infantry division (in Iraq and 15,000 strong) has just registered to vote absentee with the Kootenai County Elections office. Elections officials are currently registering an entirely new Zip Code to cope with the additional postal traffic. Complaints are coming out of Canada from the 1st royal mounted dragoons, an elite brigade based in Calgary, apparently they were upset because they had been promised the distinction of being first to register.

  8. Maybe we can send some of those tote-a-vote things to Iraq and get the Iraqis in on the county election also.

  9. That photo is in extremely poor taste. Seems as if everyone commenting on here is united against whatever else anyone in the community is for —- what a narrow-minded bunch. EVERYONE needs to look at both sides of a picture instead of always concentrating on what’s wrong with EVERYTHING. I’d like to know what is RIGHT about anything that is going on in the city. I read about this site in a recent Coeur d’Alene Press and thought it would be interesting to get different sides of an issue —WRONG. This is just snip, snip, snip about personalities instead of concentrating on issues. My first and last time at reading this site.

  11. I suppose lew2nl would be angry with the Orkin man for pointing out that his house is infested with termites.
