Born and raised in Palouse, Washington. Graduated from Washington State University in Police Administration. Three years in US Army, Counterintelligence. Twenty-three years with US Secret Service, Technical Security Division, in Fantasyland-on-the-Potomac and Los Angeles and various other parts of the world. Now lives in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Interests include digital photography and amateur radio (WB7NLR). Also holds a general radiotelephone operator license (formerly known as a FCC First Class Radiotelephone License). Member of the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA), an electronic warfare professional association.
Originally from Spokane, Mary holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Health Education. She was a critical care nurse and clinical nursing instructor before leaving the field to help her husband start a business that is now in its 25th year. Mary was general manager for 12 of those years, stepping away to focus on other endeavors. Mary and her husband of 30 years have raised all four of their children here in Coeur d’Alene. She’s been involved with numerous school committees at all levels, as well as city committees for neighborhoods, comp plan, parks and chaired the city’s Open Space committee. She volunteered for six years as a CdA Planning and Zoning Commissioner and authored a weekly opinion column in the CdA Press which covered local political and governmental issues.
