In Minidoka County a former bank manager is charged with three felony counts of illegal data processing activities for allegedly taking out three fraudulent loans for a total of almost $25,000 in a client’s name.
In Kootenai County a former deputy county clerk is charged with one felony count of grand theft for allegedly negotiating over 200 checks with a total value in excess of $100,000.
Maybe it’s just me, but there seems to be a bit of a disparity here.
Nothing to see here in Kootenai County! Nothing to see! Ignore the man behind the curtain! Move along! Move along!

The disparity is obvious. Perhaps the difference is explained by the fact that in Minidoka County, a competent Police Force handled the investigation and presented their findings to a competent, aggressive County Prosecutor.

County Prosecutors can be competent and aggressive? Wow, I never knew.

Having tap danced all over Wasden from time to time, I should also give his office and the Bonneville County Prosecuting Attorney credit for having brought in a 13-count indictment alleging misuse of public money against a Bonneville County sewer district administrator.
