OpenCdA is a limited liability company supporting open, honest government and timely, accurate, complete news reporting in Kootenai County and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. We hope to provide a forum for open and civil comments and exchanges of opinion. Please read the OpenCdA Policy for additional guidance.
OpenCdA accepts donations, however donations are not tax-exempt. In order to offer our own comments and opinions openly and freely about local issues of importance, OpenCdA would be ineligible to be either a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) company. So while we welcome donations (we pay the bills out of our own pockets and with non-deductible donations), you cannot claim them as a charitable tax deduction.
