A Question of Sheep
Coeur d’Alene’s Mayor Bloem spoke about the Education Corridor today… but just a little bit. It was in a tiny, crowded room in Post Falls. She didn’t give an explanation of the Ed. Corridor, she merely answered the question that both PF Mayor Larkin and I posed: Why has the public been left out of the decision making process on this important issue? Today there was a meeting of the Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, Government Affairs Committee (GAC). At that meeting we learned that someone is not telling the whole truth when it comes to the Education Corridor. This should not come as a shock to anyone observing this folly.

The City Responds
My February 15, 2008, post titled Better Than a Gold Watch referred to employee consulting services contracts issued by the City during 2007 to three retired Coeur d’Alene employees and their spouses. The contracts were mentioned in minutes of three separate city council meetings, but there were no details about the contracts. The absence of detail seemed worthy of further examination.
