Filed under: General — mary @ 7:55 pm

This morning’s Press featured a headline that grabbed my attention.  It was about a lawsuits filed by  “watchdog” citizens down in southern Idaho who question the actions of their urban renewal agencies.  What a concept!   (more…)

Does it Hurt to Ask?

Filed under: General — mary @ 9:30 am

Hazel Bauman, recently promoted superintendent of our CdA school district, was quoted in today’s paper as saying “…it doesn’t hurt to ask.” She was referencing her new $3.5 million dollar request to LCDC for improvements to Sorenson school. This could be fun.  (more…)

Hazards!

Filed under: General — Dan Gookin @ 8:17 am

On page C5 of today’s CDA Press there is an advertisement for an Urban Renewal Executive Director for the City of Moscow’s new, LCDC-like Urban Renewal agency. The very last item covers Working Conditions: Environment. There is only one “Hazard” listed:

HAZARDS: Exposure to dissatisfied individuals.

That raises a lot of interesting issues for me. How about you?

Partisan Politics…will it sink the ship?

Filed under: General — mary @ 12:13 pm

Here’s the “bi-partisan” speech given by House Speaker Nancy Pelsoi just minutes before the vote on the important bailout bill.  She said  “$700 billion is a staggering number but only a part of the cost of the failed Bush economic policies to our country.”  Then she went on to bash the Bush administration and the Republicans and blame them for the whole problem.

What a way to rally the troops to get this essential legislation passed.  She was awful.

Paging Clod d’Wallz!

Filed under: General — Dan Gookin @ 1:36 pm

A long time ago, a lone voice in the wilderness predicted this. A one-time local blogger by the name of Clod d’Wallz. He was ridiculed, invalidated, and chased off another local blog. But, like all prophets, his words rang true.

Put your comments here about the Subprime Mortgage Mess/Bailout.
