Paging Clod d’Wallz!

Filed under: General — Dan Gookin @ 1:36 pm

A long time ago, a lone voice in the wilderness predicted this. A one-time local blogger by the name of Clod d’Wallz. He was ridiculed, invalidated, and chased off another local blog. But, like all prophets, his words rang true.

Put your comments here about the Subprime Mortgage Mess/Bailout.

  2. I liked the video, until the last few minutes. I believe this should be framed in terms of general government incompetency. There was a GOP majority in 1995 when this thing started (according to the video). The GOP voted on it, passed it. I’ll give them credit for trying to halt it, but rarely is the blame in Washington solely on one side or the other. Until we agree that we’re all in this together, nothing will get done. So the “McCain/Palin will save us” thing at the end of the video was a real turn-off for me.

  3. Dems Want to Reward Scandal-Tarnished “Community Organizing” Group in Economic Rescue Bill

House GOP Fights to Remove ACORN Slush Fund from Economic Rescue Bill; Poison-Pill Proposal Would Ask Taxpayers to Bankroll Group Accused of Voter Fraud Nationwide

While the economy is headed straight for the Iceberg the morons in charge are looking out for their political buddies. A pox on them!

  4. I wished that last minute wasn’t in there also…it looked like a big political ad. I liked most of it, though, and thought it was very instructive. You have to use the “pause” button on the YouTube video player frequently so you can read the documentation.

  5. I thought ACORN was a significant part of the problem. Why are they in line to get 20% of the 700 Billion bail out? That’s a whole lot of money!

  6. They do not get 20% of the $700,000,000,000, they get 20% of the profit that the Treasury is going to make on this deal. Still a lot of money and why? Well let us ask “who” is ACORN first:

“ACORN is a long-time advocacy group with whom Obama was once associated.  Recently, though, ACORN workers in two states have pleaded guilty to election fraud, an unlikely recipient of federal largess.” (Fox News Report, 9/26/08)

  7. “Seven ACORN workers were charged with ‘committing the biggest voter-registration fraud in [Washington] state history.’’ (The Seattle Times, 7/26/07)

  9. From one blogger to another, you sure spelled his name wrong dan.Or is it
    sarcasm?He spelled it Claude d’Waalz.
Many conservatives have been chased off the HBO blogsite and I’m sure there are some people from that blogsite, who monitor this website.

  10. However it’s spelled…. I’m hoping that he shows up to vindicate himself.

I can’t fathom why left-wing and right-wing bloggers take delight in chasing off philosophical opponents. It merely underscores the weakness of their positions and that they feel threatened.

  13. Pariah, your last two YouTube video links are excellent. They really give the factual background, as reported by national news agencies, on the timeline and the players in this crisis. Very enlightening.

  15. Watching those videos reminds me of CdA politics. “Everything is ok. Lets spend 10 million on the EC and have an open ended ticket on buildout. Everything will be just fine.”

  16. A side-by-side (it’s a Word doc) on the various plans, from Roy Blunt’s office.

Much better (imho) than the original. Kudos to McCain, Boehner and Blunt for stopping the trash from Barney Frank and Co.

  18. The side-by-side comparison is great. Thanks for the info on the final proposal. I’m not sure I like the idea at all, but at least there are some safeguards built in now.
