Here’s the latest Press Release from Cliff Hayes’ office:

Kootenai County’s payables are now posted on its website www.kcgov.us , under the Clerk’s division and the Auditor tab. “This project has been supported by all the County’s elected officials,” said County Clerk Cliff Hayes.  “Getting specific descriptions for each expense entered in plain language has been a team effort by numerous County employees who process invoices for payment.”  The most recent payables report is online now; new reports will be posted weekly.  Details about the May 17 elections of school district trustees and highway district commissioners are also available online.  (more…)

Did She Really Say That?

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 8:33 am

Today Idaho’s largest news/views/skewspaper, the Idaho Statesman,  ran an Associated Press article headlined “As ethics charges fly, wind farm siting bill dies.”

A New Sheriff

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 9:10 am

Kootenai County Sheriff Rocky Watson announced he will not seek reelection.  Here are some questions for discussion:

  1. 1.  What is your understanding of the job of the Kootenai County Sheriff (the Sheriff personally, not the entire office)?  What do you believe the Sheriff’s duties and responsibilities are?
  2. 2.  What are your expectations for the person who will be elected to that position?
  3. 3.  What do you consider to be the most and least important personal and professional qualifications for the next Kootenai County Sheriff?
  4. 4.  Over the next four years, what do you believe the most significant challenges for the Kootenai County Sheriff and the Office will be?
  5. 5.  If you could give the next Sheriff one piece of advice, what would it be?
