Clarification

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 12:51 pm

This morning’s Coeur d’Alene Press correctly reported that “… the McEuen Field website that showed the original, high-end $39.2 million estimate for the downtown park conceptual plan” had been taken down.

However, that webpage is on the Coeur d’Alene City website under the home page button “City Info,” Reports & Studies link.  It’s just much more difficult for those pesky fact-checkers to find.

In the news article Parks Director/Chief Lawn Mower Doug Eastwood commented,  ” ‘It’s ancient information,’ Eastwood said of the $39 million figure. ‘When concepts change we don’t keep outdated information.’ ”

Since the City is, in fact, keeping the information,  has the concept not changed or is the information still not outdated?

  2. The city was just trying to play hide the ball (truth)and they forgot who they told and where they had it posted. That is an inherent problem for pathological liars. It is amazing how the case for the Recall becomes stronger when persons are trying to posture against it. Speaking of Recall, I saw where JohnA was on the anti blog talking about his involvement in the Spirit Lake Recall of its mayor. He makes some interesting and negative character comments about persons who voted in that recall. (Johnny boy, whatever your personal impression is of particular voters, the point is they are voters.) If he had his way it seems the only qualified voters would be city employees and their friends.

  3. Thanks Bill, its been a long time since I visited the beautiful multi hundreds of thousands of dollars colored artists misrepresentations.

This time I noticed that there were a lack of orange dotted lines around 3rd and 4th streets. I guess the stakeholders didn’t want to highlight their private perks along their frontage.

  4. It would have been a no-no for the City to mold, findle, and spudilate the original document since it was part of the public record of the May 24 motion.

  5. Bill, I just missed it the first time around, that’s all.

  6. Ancientemplar,

My guess is that in its haste to cover its tracks and take down the McEuen Plan from the Parks web page, they simply forgot about it already being in Reports & Studies. Even if it disappears from there, enough of us have copies that it will not be lost.

  7. Thankfully I downloaded a copy of EVERYTHING from the site a week ago.

  8. Hmm. Gissel’s tag for Recall supporters: ‘The Bleacher Boys’. Yes that pretty well sums it up. Those comfortably sitting in their sky boxes and luxury seats can’t understand why those of us in the bleachers with fixed incomes in a down economy don’t want to pay more for a ticket.

  9. up river,

I believe Gissel may also be concerned that those of us in the bleachers are unwilling to accept that our pockets are being picked to help pay for those sky boxes and luxury seats.
