A Shining Example of Community Excellence

Filed under: Probable Cause — Tags: — Bill @ 7:17 am

This morning’s Coeur d’Alene Press included a guest opinion column written by Coeur d’Alene resident Bruce MacNeil.  His thoughtful and insightful work was titled Recall a matter of accountability.

Bruce can hardly be characterized as one of those naysayers, anarchists, and rabble-rousers who hate parks and the people who appreciate them.  Follow this link to the City’s webpage titled Parks Master Plan, and on the second page of Acknowledgements under the heading Master Plan Planning Advisory Committee, you’ll see his name (misspelled, but still there).

  1. Forgive me for taking this off topic, but did anyone happen to read the post by MikeK over at HBO this morning regarding the Decline to Sign Rally last night? Seems he put the attendance at 250 before he lost track on the count. From the photos of the event posted on Facebook, one might place a better estimate of maybe 60-70 people. Mike must have used the same counting techniques employed in his last election.

Take a look at the Facebook photos, but more importantly read the captions attached to each one, some examples include:

“Firefighers in support of a positive future!”
(One firefighter standing there with a beer).

“The Mayor and one of her supporters.”
(Looking somewhat troubled and alone in a supposedly crowed room).

“The crowds were spilling out onto the sidewalk!”
(My take on this photo is some kids wanting to be outside, plus a few attendees needing a breath of fresh air).
