Voter Intimidation?

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 7:22 am

The billboard to the left was put up by Clear Channel Communications to replace the billboard shown just below it.  The lower billboard was alleged to be intimidating to voters.

And in Florida, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and federal agencies are investigating the possibility that letters sent to registered voters there amounted to voter intimidation.

  1. Of course it’s intimidation! Then again, so is “Thou Shalt Not Kill.”

Obey the frickin’ law. There. Feel intimidated.

  3. concerned citizen,

No, but we wouldn’t expect to hear anything until the Court has sent its decision to the parties through their respective attorneys.

  4. Both of these signs need to be prominently displayed at every polling station.

  5. Wallypog,

“Voting is a right, not a crime!” is incomplete and therefore inaccurate. Voting is a crime if the person voting is not legally eligible to vote.

“Voter fraud is a felony!” is not necessarily accurate in Idaho. While the statute may state a particular act is a felony, it becomes moot when the county’s prosecuting attorney is defending the illegal action rather than prosecuting it.
