Sweet Mary Lou

Filed under: General — mary @ 10:45 am

imgp3331 Energetic giver and helper, Mary Lou Piazza, was called to heaven last night.  She was a wonderful part of our community and will be missed deeply.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Rich, Nicci and Sal.

  1. I am so saddened to learn of Mary Lou’s death. I knew she was ill again and I intended to send a card and note and so on as visiting was discouraged. I waited too long. My prayers and sympathy are for Rich and the kids and all those who loved and will miss Mary Lou, a really sweet gal.

  2. Mary Lou came over to Spokane to recruit our business to CdA more than 20 years ago. She was our banker several different times over the years and I always consider her a friend. What a great spirit she is. And that vivacious energy will go on. Heaven is lucky tonight.

  3. Mary Lou’s funeral this afternoon was lovely. St. Pius was absolutely full to the brim, and Cathyanne Nonini’s violin serenade was heart-stopping, especially the Ave Maria. Oh my.

At the very end of a poignant and fun video of lifetime photos, they played Ricky Nelson singing “Hello Mary Lou good bye heart.” Smiles and tears together.

  4. Mary Lou’s services were absolutely beautiful, just like her. Playing “Hello Mary Lou” as they were removing the casket from the church was an absolute stroke of genius. It changed the mood of those assembled from mourners to celebrants, just the way Mary Lou would have wanted it. Her loss pains us, her memory and smile will buoy us forever.
