OpenCdA’s post dated October 27, 2013, and titled Really? questioned whether either The Coeur Group or the NIC Republicans had “wholeheartedly endorsed Steve Widmyer for mayor” as stated in a letter to the editor by John Barlow of Coeur d’Alene and published in the Coeur d’Alene Press .

Here is the reply OpenCdA received today from Luke Kilcup, whose email identifies him as the Chairman of the North Idaho College Republicans and the State Treasurer of the Idaho Federation of College Republicans.

“The NIC College Republicans have not endorsed any of the three candidates and will not do so in the future. We believe in Republican Principles and spreading them in the community and on our campus, but do not believe that it would be prudent to endorse any candidates officially as a group. Especially on a level where there all three candidates file themselves as conservatives. (Whether or not all of their policies line up with republican viewpoint.) The North Idaho College Republicans will not endorse a candidate in this election, we will only encourage the public to educate themselves on the candidates and to vote for the true conservatives in each and every race.”

OpenCdA has not yet received a reply from The Coeur Group.

  1. Thank you Bill for searching out the truth. I thought he gave false information.

  2. Still think you guys are nitpicking and grasping at straws. Anything on the Souza supporting PAC Truth North Idaho?

  3. Mike,

What is your definition of “supporting?” I’ve seen conclusive evidence that Mary Souza supports the right of every US citizen to life, liberty, and due process of law. Does that answer your question? I’ve seen conclusive evidence that she supports the Constitution of the United States. Does that answer your question? If not, please frame your question more precisely.

  4. Bill I didn’t say what Mary supports, I was talking about the PAC that supports Mary and anyone reading the post knows it. As far as Mary supporting the rights of every citizen she herself excluded gays and anyone that is not tied to the far right Tea Party, Brent Ragan, and the Reagan republicans.

  5. Mike,

No, that’s exactly what you said. Your awkwardly using the definite article “the” in front of Souza implied Souza was supporting PAC Truth North Idaho. What you may have meant to ask was, “Anything on the Souza-supporting PAC Truth North Idaho?” If that was what you meant to write, the only information I have about Truth North Idaho is what I’ve read on its website and in Press articles. I place no reliance on the accuracy or completeness of anything written by Jeff Selle because of his expressed willingness to falsify legal documents and his encouragement to others to do the same.

As for your assertion, “As far as Mary supporting the rights of every citizen she herself excluded gays … “, what evidence do you have to support that? What exactly do you mean by “excluded?”

  6. Mike

Could you please identify your source where Mary says she does not support gay rights. There are those that are merely against poorly written law, duplicate and unnecessary law and, as with the case of our local UR, abuse of law.

  7. It appears to me that Bill might be causing at least one poster consternation by insisting on the use of proper English and challenging general assertions that are made without factual support.

  9. The 5th is almost here, I’ll buy the beer for your team to cry in. don’t need no stinking English. Ah if by some miracle I’m wrong you’ll buy right?

  10. I have asked several people to provide facts to back up their comments against certain people and interesting enough, they have nothing to say including Mr. Teague.

  11. LTR, I can’t prove string theory but the best minds know it’s there. Could you please remind me of any FACT you have added to this or any other discussion?

    Comment by Mike Teague — October 31, 2013 @ 9:54 pm

  12. The sad thing is anyone that posts FACTUAL information against the stakeholders gets removed from other sites.
