During a television news interview on January 28, 2021, in the coal country of Huntington/Charleston, West Virginia, Vice President Kamala “Kommi Kammi” Harris explained how the region’s coal miners put out of work by the Biden-Harris administration would be retrained for 21st century high-paying jobs.
Harris said, “All of those skilled workers who are in the coal industry and transferring those skills to what we need to do in terms of dealing with reclaiming abandoned land mines…transferring those important skills to the work that has yet to be done that needs to get done.”
Presumably the Vice President meant to say, …reclaiming abandoned coal and strip mines. To our knowledge, West Virginia is not noted for its abundance of buried land mines abandoned after the war.
But she is just a heartbeat or a 25th Amendment invocation away from being President of the United States and having her finger on the nuclear button, so it might have also been a Freudian slip.
Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.
