Don’t forget, boys and girls, that LCDC wants your input, TODAY at 5:30 pm in the Library’s Community Room. They want you to show up and tell them what they should do next year. But be very, very careful. Don’t ask for more transparency. Don’t suggest any changes. Don’t criticize anything at all, and especially do NOT mention that Charlie Nipp has conflict of interest problems and that LCDC’s disclosure form is inadequate. If you do, you may run the risk of intimidation. Maybe a lecture from Deanna (when you can’t respond) or a phone call to your boss from Charlie or perhaps a visit from an angry city councilman. Tread carefully.

I do understand the context usage of the word “reigning” in todays article. However I couldn’t help but make a different connection. Todays Press had an article about Sen. Jorgenson meeting with the AG regarding the subpoena for his correspondance. The line read “Charlie Nipp the reigning member of LCDC”. Too perfect a description. St. Charlie and the boys see themselves as monarchs of the realm. Absolute dictators and arbiters of how to spend the public money. Irrestible.

On that note, terrific column today Mary. Courageous as well. Now, I suggest that you practice walking swiftly in a zig zag pattern. I’ve heard that a moving target is harder to hit.
On a somber note, Susie the public attack on you by Mike Kennedy is mind boggling. Unbelievable. I, a person of many words, can’t even begin to come up with a description for that behavior. Despicable comes to mind.

The AG decided as expected. And St. Charlie has gone to ground as has his attorney. At a guess, St. Charlie the apoplectic will appeal and/or spin. What has really bothered me (and it may be from the reporters ignorance) is the press going along with the “accusation”. It was n ever that, always an inquiry. And that is a salient point. That same reporter tends to leave out the part where the AG found impropriety.
