Gutting the U.S. Constitution?

Filed under: General — mary @ 7:42 pm

constitution We might feel protective of our state’s rights, but what about the prospect of the U.S. Constitution being quietly bartered away in the midst of the European love train for our new President?  Here’s some info about the Obama administration’s latest nominee, this one is Harold Koh, a Yale University Law professor who will be considered by Congress for the position of State Department legal advisor and, as such, will represent the U.S. in international legal situations.

There are some serious concerns about Mr. Koh’s view of the U.S. Constitution as secondary to International law.  And also about his comment in a speech in 2007 that he could see instances where Shariah Law (Muslim law) could be followed in our country. ( What?!! ) Here are two links:  The first link is a conservative view, with info about Mr. Koh’s past and his writings.  The second link is a liberal site, Slate, which is, in my opinion, trying desperately to make excuses for Mr. Koh’s beliefs.  They’re trying the old line of “don’t worry, you’re all overreacting, it’s not that bad,  just trust us.”  What do you think?  Here they are:

  1. Well, I have to say, “you get what you pay for”. I only know one person who actually voted Osama,I mean Obama into office. This Pres does not have any leadership background and a very bad history with hobnobbing in the muslim world. What would you think you would get with him in office? I say what anyone with common sense would say, “This country deserves what it gets” Sorry! Also FYI and those who havent figured it out yet- We are definitely in a transition of giving world leader power away.
