Open Session, Wednesday

Filed under: Open Session — mary @ 3:08 pm

calendar, clock Several options tonight.  I’ll be going to the Mica Grange at 7pm to listen to Jim Keizer and Jim Ballew talk about the upcoming School District 271 supplemental levy.  They were two of the gentlemen from the district’s Finance Panel that researched the cost-effectiveness of most aspects of district spending.

Do you have any ideas, comments or questions?

  1. Hey,

Could someone post the times of voting for tne up coming levy since they are at an odd time? I guess it is one way to try and determine an outcome. 🙂

    Thanks

  2. Levy election day is April 21, 2009.

Polling places are all District 271 schools, North Idaho College (gym foyer), Kootenai Medical Center (Heart Center lobby), and Mica Flats Grange Hall. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Absentee voting is available at the District Office after March 24. For more information call 664-8241.

Idaho Law requires a school elector be: A registered voter (you may register at the polls on Election Day if you provide photo ID and proof of residency); 18 years or age or older; a U.S. citizen, and a resident of the Coeur d’Alene School District for 30 days prior to election.

  3. Dan,Mary,Bill,
What is going on at Opencda.com central today? The CDA Press ran a story today titled:McEuen on LCDC radar.Isn’t a thread about this warranted, especially since the revamping of McKuen will take out the baseball fields and probably the tennis courts. In favor of more foot traffic and an events plaza.Dare I say that because, of all the condos built downtown, the LCDC and the city would want to build a parking garage by McKuen also?

I believe there will be alot of opposition to this pending revamp of McKuen field, like there was back in 2000 when the city wanted to put a strip mall down at McKuen and take out the ball fields, tennis courts etc.under the proposed’Revitalization
Plan’to supposedly, help save the CDA downtown area. The citys thinking about moving the ball fields to Riverstone. Is this a good idea?
