Very impressive. The organizers and the people who showed up deserve praise for good citizenship.

I think photo was from early in the gathering. There were far more people on the knoll than shown here. I think many who attended were a little timid to be at a ‘protest’. But now that they understand that they’re in lots of good company they’ll be back along with many others.

the helicopters were overhead around 4 pm, not at the start of the event. i have seen group shots that show an identical mass of people and they were taken around 3:50 pm. it was a good turnout for this type of event, the organizers should be pleased, but there were not “far more people on the knoll than shown here. “

btw, does anyone know if the organizers paid for the parking spaces they occupied, or was that just another taxpayer funded perk?

That’s a fair question. Call Thom George and ask him. He’s on the Parking Commission and should know or be able to find out.

The organizers told me that day that they paid full parking for every space blocked by the stage. Tom George does not need to take time out of his very busy day to deal with such minutia. As head of the Kootenai County Democrats, he attended the event, gave the Press an negative statement, and took lots of photos of people attending. I’m sure he will need time to examine them closely, don’t you think, ray-gun?
