What’s going on with this sign in City Park?

  1. I confess to being the photographer. I assume that the Parks Dept. has a sense of humor. On a sadder note, just to the left of this image, they have completely torn down the old barn in the park, where the equipment was stored. Yeah, it was a decrepit old building, but it had character.

    Now I’m getting my sled!

  2. Maybe the other side of the sign says “New Grass, Stay Off”, and they forgot to flip it around. Of all the things in the city to complain about, the Parks are not on my list. We have great parks!

So is this a new covered area in City Park?

  3. Today is National Appreciate Your City Day. The street sweeper has just made its third pass this morning on my street. It’s really clean now. Was cean after the first pass, but in keeping with NAYCD I won’t say anything more.

  6. Mary,
You are on the cities “BLACKLIST” and do not get your street cleaned along with Dan and Bill. 🙂

  7. Except that some of the city’s favorites live on my street! And besides, maybe Gary’s just special. I know one reason he’s special but I can’t tell you yet…stay tuned.

  9. The demolished building will be replaced with a pole barn. It appears that design standards are not applied to the city park. The council thought it a fine replacement. At least they had a picture of the proposed building. Don’t forget that the hurry, hurry and approved hot dog stand was approved without so much as a CAD drawing. It appears that design standards were not applied to this concrete structure either.

  10. The street sweeper made another pass this morning just before 7:00 am. That makes five. Perhaps scrubbing the street four times a day is part of the swine flu response. Anyway, council candidates should be looking at the street budget, I think.
