I have been sorting and filing paperwork today and came across a property tax statement from 2004. I compared it to the 2008 statement, and in just 4 years, here’s the increase:
County tax went up 35%
City of CdA tax up 77%
NIC tax went up 111%
Ouch!
Be careful Mary, if you start letting us know about all the money that our great leadership is draining out of our pockets, they will get you for a technical error and make you apologize! 🙂 Some people just can’t stand it, when a person can see the writing on the wall for what is really true.

Oh, come on, Mary! Taxes go up, but I’m certain that you can point to an equitable increase in the quantity or quality of the services provided by those agencies, right?
The problem isn’t taxes, it’s spending. They spend money because they can. They do not spend it accountably because the accountability lies with elected officials would would rather scream at you than do their jobs.
Or is it that their job is to scream at you?
Anyone else remember a few years back when Goodlander was quoted in the paper as walking by the City budget lying on her kitchen table and, welp, that was good enough for a YES vote from her!
Accountability. Find it elsewhere.

Dan,
Nope, I don’t have the kitchen table article. Can you give more specifics so I can get it? I think they call it something akin to a tear sheet.
