Death to Business?

Filed under: General — mary @ 8:19 am

240px-fedex_corporation_logosvg Wanna know how to revive the economy?  GET GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE WAY!  In the latest “what country are we living in?” episode, Congress is working on a bill that will hamstring Fed-Ex.  Why?  Because Fed-Ex, as an airway-based business, operates under different rules than UPS, it’s much bigger competitor.  UPS has to deal with the Teamster’s union and the proposed legislation will force Fed-Ex to do the same.  What a bunch of baloney.  Oh, but the congressman from Minnesota, Democrat James L. Oberstar, who is slipping this sneaky 200 word provision into another bill, has been heavily funded by the Teamsters and UPS.  With this kind of trickery, it will be a miracle if business is able to survive.
