History Quiz #2

Filed under: General — mary @ 9:24 am

Getting closer to our modern era, here are a few more questions about racial equality efforts in our country’s history:

1.  Which was the party of the Klu Klux Clan?

2.  Which current US Senator was a high ranking member of the Klu Klux Clan and filibustered against the Civil Rights Act of 1964?  What is his party affiliation?

3.  What is the party of the Governor of South Carolina, later a US Senator, who put the Confederate flag to fly over the state capitol?

4.  Which party had the greatest percentage of votes to pass the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960s?

It’s important for us in Northern Idaho to know this history and understand how the unfair use of the term “racism” can be destructive.

  1. While we’re speaking of Democrats, this mornings letters in the Press prove that there is a God of humor. Thommy George, a real pro at twisting facts, wrote a looooo-ong letter about “mistatements” in a previous letter regarding the health care “forum” held at the library. I love starting my day with a guffaw from my toes on up.

  2. Democrats are still in the business of suppressing the blacks (and Hispanics) to make them more dependent on government. Sticking minorities in failing schools with no way out and producing illiterate minorities is a form of control. Some people say it is like keeping them on the plantation.

It is about time the Republican Party stop giving up on the black vote. They need to fight for the votes by getting the truth out. Advertise in the inner city via T.V. and hold protests about the Democrat controlled schools that are manipulating kids into “serfdom” to the government.

  4. One of our alert readers sent me this HUMOR:

If you think that a czar is unconstitutional
… you might be a racist!

If you are opposed to a government run health care system
… you might be a racist!

If you think that it is unAmerican to bow before the Saudi King
… you might be a racist!

If you think that the stimulus plan has been an utter failure
… you might be a racist!

If you think that this administration is driving the deficit up at alarming rates
… you might be a racist!

If you think that this is a nation based on Christian values
… you might be a racist!

If you think that communism and socialism are NOT the solution
… you might be a racist!

If you value the 1st Amendment, but think that the media is state-run
… you might be a racist!

If you are sick and tired of the race card being played
… you might be a racist!

If you are a racist according to the current liberal agenda
… you might just be an American!

  5. James Blaine of the GOP, the KKK and the Freemasons all worked together at different times – late XIXth Century to pass the odious “Blaine Amendments” – see http://www.blaineamendments.org/Intro/whatis.html for more – and that triad of bigotry found it’s high water mark with the Pierce v. Society of Sisters case – see http://www.honested.com/edlib/v1n4/orsi.php.

These are just a few of the reasons so many ethnic Catholics and other minorities voted Democrat over the years.
