Open Session, Tuesday

IMGP4924 Good thing we don’t live in Iran!   The Associated Press reports that “Iran has sentenced five people to death over the unrest that followed the country’s disputed June presidential election, state television reported Tuesday. At least three others caught up in the turmoil have received death sentences previously.  Iran began a mass trial in August of prominent opposition figures and activists…”

Any comments, suggestions, ideas or questions on any topic of the day?

  1. Well, my significant other just ordered the Sarah Palin book:’Going Rogue’, as a christmas gift for me.
I’ll have to take it down to Fred Meyer’s in CDA to get an autograph on Dec. 10.

  2. I’ll be in line there too, Kageman! There aren’t many people I’d like signatures from, but Gov. Palin impresses me with her tenacity and down-to-earth nature.

  3. Here’s a link to the newspaper column I wrote about Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton, a year ago, Nov. 2008: http://www.marysouzacda.com/HOM_11-9-08.html

  4. Yep, we want to be there too.

I want a signing from Palin that says “Don’t take no bullcrap.” 🙂 She is great and she is doing a fine job playing the media – and that is where I think she is going, she will news anchor some show sooner than later. She is working her way in – the media loves to hate her, she makes news. Kind of what Mary does here on a local level. 🙂

  5. Buenas Dias. I plan on being at the Palin event but don’t think I’ll get an autograph. Checked with Freddy’s and they said the first 700 get them and they start giving out “wristlets’ at 7. There probably will be more than 700 folks there before I get there as this is her only OFFICIAL Northwest stop. Which raises the question…why?
Perhaps it’s because she went to school at NIC–the ONLY NIC student to approach the oval office—and is a graduate of the University of Idaho—DITTO—and was born in sandpoint, IDAHO—DITTO.
That is what’s amazing to me. The sound of chirping crickets from Idaho’s educational ‘elite.’
They could be trumpeting this big event and generating huge interest in Idaho higher education but they put their own liberal, democrat partisanship ahead of their schools’ and the State’s interests.
When it was announced that NIC’s Palin was the Vice-PRESIDENTIAL candidate a local radio station called retired poli-sci teacher and very left-wing radical tony stewart to comment(??!!). I heard it and he was as un-enthusiatic as you can get. He even said something like he had no recollection of her at all. Translation: she was a NOTHING. Maybe so to good ol’ Tony. [Last two sentences deleted by Bill.]

Even ol’ left-winger alec baldwin said he was surprised by her beauty when he met her at SNL.
Balwin, however, is a well known ladies man.

  6. Zapatista, Freddy’s may have started out as her only Northwest stop but she was in Richland over Thanksgiving, for the holiday and a book signing at a Hasting’s there, and she’ll be going up to Sandpoint right after her CdA stop next week. I think the overwhelming turnout all across the country has surprised many people, possibly even her own organizing staff!

That said, I hear the liberal folk are shifting their Palin-ridicule machine into high gear. They are creating videos of the crowd waiting to see Sarah. Of course, they try to make the Palin fans look as dorky and dumb as possible, but I don’t think their fancy editing fools anyone. People are coming out to see Sarah Palin because she’s real, not perfect, but she’s believable, trustworthy and has common sense. Not charactaristics you find in Washington DC these days!
