I was reviewing Councilman Deanna Goodlander’s 30-Day Post-General Election Campaign Financial Report and noticed that Robert C. Samuel, 5141 N. 40th, Phoenix, AZ, had donated $500 to her reelection campaign.  Who is Robert C. Samuel?
[
According to annual reports filed on the Idaho Secretary of State’s website, Samuel is involved with Marshall Chesrown in these enterprises:

For those interested, The Mill Sites LLC is the entity that sold the DeArmond Mill site to the NIC Foundation.  Think “17 acres by the sewer plant.”

  1. “The Mill Sites LLC”. I thought Stimpson owned Sewerscent, sold it to Marshal Cheshron for one day then sold it to NIC. How does this guy from AZ tie in?

    Curiouser and Curiouser.

  2. Zapatista,

You’ve asked a very good question.

  3. If the Mill Sites LLC is a Chesrown entity then it is probably just a holding company set up to deal with those properties including his lease-option purchase of the Stimson property. In other words if NIC opted to not purchase the land then this LLC would have either had to exercise the purchase option or forfeit the earnest funds put up to hold the option available. No doubt Chesrown has many investors or perhaps even REITs who co-invest on these ventures. Obviously this particular person works with several Chesrown platforms and wants the political favors to continue to flow from city hall.

Still it is hard to say because the public gets to see none of this paperwork because it is part of the Foundation deal and not privy to public records searches. Lord knows how many souls will be stuffing our tax dollars into their wallets. And Lord knows, thanks to our Mayor, we grossly overpaid for that property.

  4. But Wallypog, didn’t you hear? You shouldn’t worry that the city and NIC paid $588,000 per acre for the land next to the sewage plant WITHOUT ANY VOTE. The Mayor just gave the State of the City address, and everything in CdA is great! The highest unemployment of any city in the state–Who cares? Hundreds of luxury condos subsidized with tax dollars sitting empty–no problem. The highest paid city staff in the region, by far?—the Mayor wants us all to know they are SAVING us money.

  5. Yeah, I heard, Mary. I’ve got some swampland on a pending lease purchase contract in the Yucatan peninsula that would make a grand Sister City. It cost me $0.32 to tie up and I will sell it to CdA for only $16 million. That’s 132 acres of PRIME Yucatan future beach property (after the globe warms up) offering an empty palette for an educationally minded community of lofty thinkers, OR fine business trappings for the shakers and movers, whichever. What’s-his-face can do the appraisal and they can use the Parks Foundation to funnel the funds through. Nobody needs to know what they don’t needs to know and nobody will dare to ask. BTW I could probably provide some generous campaign donations IF we can work out a deal. And I just LOVE jewelry. That’s NOT a quid pro quo thingy. I am just saying, you know? So, call me at 1-888-TAX-FRAUD.

  6. Has ground been broken yet? I’m good to go with the idea. Work on your tan in the Yucatan! I’m applying for a Pell Grant (free money for the academically challenged) to study “vacant condo development.”
A few questions about the school:
Does it have a severe parking problem?
Is it next to a failing sewer treatment plant that ‘renders’ a unique ‘essence’?
Is the school mascot “The fighting snub-nosed Brown Trout”?
Is the campus ingress/egress a problem?
Does it have little to no student housing?
Is the campus footprint below national standards….rendering it impossible to grow inexpensively?

Being a NIC alum, it’s important to me that this other school share the same qualities.

  7. Zapatista…. No, no, no…. This is just ‘pristine’ nascent, beach-front swampland ready for upscale ‘anything’. If you wants a sewage plant then by all means build one. I can get you any zoning changes you needs for any old ideas you might have. I do require tangible funds and not that useless American dollar neither. Gold bullion will be required, to be specific. I might accept rough diamonds with a 35% surcharge for handling expenses. I’ll consider whatever Bloem has setting around her store but I ain’t no pushover. When is better for you, Sat or Sun? (You will need deposit bullion).

  8. Swampland? That sounds and smells like Heaven compared to a 100 year-old industrial wasteland. Not sure how many diamond “rocks” the mayor has, as how developer Stone has got his rocks off her.

There’s a lot of Bull in the “education corridor”, but no Bullion.

  9. Still wondering about where this dude from Arizona fits in….
