Elections Day Open Session

Filed under: Open Session — Dan Gookin @ 11:52 am

Yes, that’s my sticker from voting this morning. The polling place was slow. I don’t know how many others had voted. (I’m in the 54th Precinct.) There was one guy there when I walked in, and one lady arrived when I left. This was at 10:00 AM. I did notice that John Goedde had already voted; his name appears just above mine in the voter rolls.

  1. Good for you for voting today…it is pretty slow so far…but polling sites are open until 8 p.m. so still lots of time for people to GO VOTE.

  2. I met a friend in Costco and she had voted as well. Only 24 voted in her precinct this morning. Hopefully the numbers will grow. Something about big numbers in an election feels good.

  3. I just got back from voting and sent Dan English a direct email about a problem. Our polling place is on the short street called Golf Course Rd., right across from the Kroc Center. That road has been closed for about 2 weeks, with signs at each end saying “Road Closed”. You can still get through to the couple of places on that road, but the signs are daunting and it’s clear you’re not supposed to go through. So I thought there would be a sign today, telling people they can still go on the road to vote, but there wasn’t. The poll workers seemed concerned when I asked about it. They had already called Dan. Let’s hope they can get something up on both ends of the street. I had to dodge a couple construction vehicles on my way through, but I voted and so did our college-age son.

  4. Thank you for opening the elections office yesterday, Dan. It was rather busy when I voted.

  5. We just voted at the Old Church in Post Falls. We were voters 100 and 101 and we were there at 7:15pm.
