Fire Season Again

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 3:42 pm

It’s fire season again.  For up-to-date information about major wildland fires throughout the country, go to the National Interagency Fire Center National Fire News webpage.

For detailed information and maps about the current California fires, go to the California Office of Emergency Services 2008 California Wildfires webpage.

As the season progresses, go to the Idaho Forest Products Commission’s Forest Fires in Idaho webpage for information about fires in Idaho.

All websites have some very informative links.

  1. I was hoping that with the record year for snowfall, combined with a wet
June, that the Northwest wouldn’t have very many forest fires this year.Is this wishful thinking?

The Forest Service personnel love it,as they make alot more money fighting fires.

  2. kageman,

I don’t know if it’s wishful thinking or not, but I share your hope. It probably won’t be long before the local news media start asking the USFS for risk estimates, so we’ll very likely hear it first on Eyenitwit News.
