Where’s the Bunker?

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 12:23 pm

It’s June 30, 2008.  Do you know where your bunker is?

Since April 1, 2008, OpenCdA.com has been reporting about the City of Coeur d’Alene’s supposed urgent need for a precast concrete structure to be used as a public safety substation in Coeur d’Alene City Park.   The Parks and Recreation Commission, the General Services Committee, and the City Council just couldn’t wait to apply their rubber stamps to this project to get it in front of our urban renewal agency for funding.  They all just had to have it in place by the summer 2008 events.  The world would stop rotating if they didn’t.

So, where’s the bunker?   It should be on the green grass in the photo.

This year’s Car d’Alene and Ironman are history, and it doesn’t look like the bunker will be in place by the July 4 events.   Maybe by Art-on-the-Green.

On June 18 I sent an email to City Parks Director Doug Eastwood asking when the crane and flatbed trailers would be arriving to herald the installation of the memorial precast concrete structure.  No answer.

Maybe after July 6 … ?

  2. Good government involves citizens. It has plans that outline real needs. It listens to every possible solution.

I’d answer or comment on your question if I understood it better.
