City Council Meeting

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 7:39 am

Here’s a link to the agenda for tonight’s Coeur d’Alene City Council meeting.  Remember, this is not the official agenda, only the one the City posts on its website.  The agenda includes a link to the council’s preparatory packet as well.

Anyone want to guess who will be doing the Proposed Jail Expansion presentation?

  1. I just read the minutes from the last Coeur d’Alene city council meeting. During that meeting the contract to administer the city’s CDBG Funds was awarded to Panhandle Area Council. Deanna Goodlander voted yes to award this contract. Isn’t she a Board Member/Treasurer of Panhandle Area Council? In December when this issue was being discussed, she recused herself from the vote due to a conflict of interest. Why not this time? I hope the city officials recognize that this is Fed money that they are receiving and there are rules that must be followed. If this gets messed up; worthy entities might not receive needed funds due to poor compliance of this Federal entitlement. The question is obviously; was there a fair and open competetive bid process for this contract? I read that CDBG funds are going to be used in the Midtown Development project. The use of these funds is limited to individuals and families making up to 80% of the median income for our area. The proposed target market of people making up to $60,000, could potentially be a violation unless the family is quite large. Federal regulations are not optional. Coeur d’Alene needs to find someone who knows what they are doing to make certain the city is in compliance.
