Open Session, Tuesday Again!

Filed under: Open Session — mary @ 10:13 am

While we’re still waiting on the judge’s decision in the Election Challenge case, today’s CdA Press was full of edgy stories:

Sheriff Joe from Arizona spoke at the Resort last night, the ultra-controversial Westboro Baptist Church will be picketing in our area, and several local long-term Republicans came out in an interview on the front page to say the party has been taken over by “wackos”.  My, my!  What are your thoughts?

  1. BETTER A WACKO THAN A RHINO. WACKOS UNITE! and maybe the USofA will be a better place.
That ought to raise some hackles.

  2. Sorry Ancient. The wacko refers to those supporting Hart. And Hart, simply put, is a law breaker. I don’t know too many people who enjoy giving up hard earned money to the govt. ..especially this govt. But that is the law and we are (supposedly) a law abiding people. I obey the law and certainly do not support Hart. Further, I believe the Idaho legislators who have white washed Hart are a disgrace. By any definition, Phil Hart is a crook.

  3. I don’t believe Phil Hart is a crook. Anyone subject to IRS intimidation is not instantly a crook. Even so, I must say that Phil’s piss-poor way of handling this episode has utterly ruined his reputation. As far as that goes, he’s done for.

  4. My wife excoriated me for misspelling RHINO but I explained to her that it was tongue in cheek. Again Hart has been fined and assessed with penalties by the IRS,(that’s no proof of a crime just coercion by the Govn’t) but has he been convicted?

  5. How many here have refused to pay their taxes? I’m no fan of the IRS. But at this time in history, tax payment is law. So, insofar as not paying, Hart is a crook. Do I think he takes candy from babies and kicks puppies…no. But to the millions of us who, like it or not, obey the tax laws, he has broken the law. Dan, it was non-payment that made him a crook. The liens and penalties are clearly stated and he earned them. Disagreeing is legal…the rest, not so much.
