Questions for Candidates

Filed under: General — Dan Gookin @ 10:29 am

Over the next several weeks, I’ll be scheduling a series of video interviews with candidates for state and local offices. The videos will be shown here on OpenCdA, and in the spirit of openness, I’m inviting you to submit some questions you’d like asked of those running for office.

I plan on sending invitations for interviews to the contested races for the 4th Legislative District (here in Coeur d’Alene), as well as the County Commissioner races. Because we’re primarily involved with local issues here on OpenCdA, I prefer to keep the interviews to local candidates only. Here’s the list:

State Senator
Jeremy Boggess
John Goedde
Ken Howard

State Legislator A
Marge Chadderdon
Tamara Lee Poelstra

State Legislator B
Jim Hollingsworth
George Sayler

Commissioner 1
Bruce Noble
Todd Tondee
Greg Wells

Commissioner 2
Steve Caires
Rick Currie
Bob MacDonald

The goal is to keep the interviews to about 5 minutes each. So I’m thinking of asking 5 questions with one minute available for each reply. The candidates will receive the questions in advance. The same questions will be asked of all candidates, so the questions will be regarding local, city/county issues. If you have any specific questions you’d like to see asked, please submit them below.

  1. I’ve got lots of questions, no surprise there. It seems to me that we, the public, are hiring these people to represent our concerns, so it should be a lot like a job interview.

Here’s one of my favorite job interview questions: Have you ever had to work with someone you don’t like? If so, how did you handle it?

    More questions later.
