Open Session, Thursday

Filed under: Open Session — mary @ 8:03 am

Seems quiet around here this week.  Summer is threatening to slip away early, so maybe everyone’s grabbing  moments while they can.  Good idea.

Any ideas, comments or questions as we sit on our porch rockers?

  1. reagan… I don’t understand your problem. I think that people essentially agree that dealing with “H” is no picnic. He works hard to get things his way. He is coercive and getting on his bad side is not a good idea. Seems as though you share some of those qualities yourself.

But you continually grind a confrontational ax here on Open CdA. It’s as though you’re not happy with any dialogue unless you can foment an emotional argument (especially with Mary). Agree to disagree but stop acting like a disgruntled stepchild. It serves to undermine you and your position on the issues.

  2. wallypog i could have done without the sunday morning insults, but i’ll forgive you. i do not disagree for the sake of disagreeing, but i do find it dismaying that every time i ask a question that does not ‘stay on message’ i get attacked, usually by pariah and the wiz, or ignored, usually by mary. now i don’t mind getting ignored, but if some of the questions i ask were actually answered then perhaps a true discussion could take place and not just a on-sided attaboy, way to go echo.

  3. Reagan, The floating green exists due to a lease between Mr. Hagadone or his company and the State of Idaho. It is not a free lease as fees are paid. The PUD for the hotel property was approved by the City of Coeur d’Alene. Essentially, the public’s constant use of the boardwalk was a condition in the PUD approval.

Regarding the use of the beach to the east of the Potlatch Property, that beach lease is granted by the State of Idaho to a private party. Although the public currently has use of it, that could change. The City Council refused to make the perpetual use of that beach for the public a condition when they approved the golf course annexation despite the tremendous number of requests from the public.

  4. reagan… My point exactly. People were not disagreeing with your opinion about “H” but that was not good enough for you. Granted nobody patted you upon the back and placed you upon the pedestal of superior intellect. They did the same to Kageman (I actually openly contradicted him) but he wasn’t feeling put upon. Do you require reenforcement in all aspects of your life? Don’t be so thin skinned and defensive. It is not good for the blood pressure.
