Open Session: Tea Party Rescues GOP

Filed under: Open Session — mary @ 10:15 am

In a great column yesterday in the Wall Street Journal, Peggy Noonan writes about how the GOP has not been hurt by the Tea Party movement.  Quite the opposite.  She says the Tea Partiers have rescued the Republican party.  It is well worth the read.  Here’s the link: Tea Party to the Rescue!

Any comments on this or other issues?

  1. ‘Tea Party Rescues GOP’.

The Tea Party movement is mostly a conservative movement, especially fiscally imo. To me, the GOP is just moving back to their roots of: conservatism. The GOP always seems to lose elections and run into trouble when they move away from conservative principles.

  2. Absolutely, Kageman. This country is NOT socialist in our core and this administration’s policies have made many people very nervous.

  3. I do agree with Mary in that respect – “This country is NOT socialist in our core.” I am now experiencing almost a ‘heckling’ to take the flu shot – even when I go into Walgreens – ‘they’ are standing at the door greeting me with their health care agenda. Sure, I will take the flu shot – but the government and assoiciating partners in cohoots with drug companies needs to sign the release of liability that I will NOT get the flu, nor will I experience any side effects from the shot. Why should I take the risk? Seriously, this Obama Care can take a hike if they plan to ‘dictate’ health care.

  4. Hey Stebbijo, I hear you. I personally can’t take the flu shot because I reacted severely to it in 1976 (the famous swine flu crisis under Jimmy Carter). The shot put me in the hospital in Respiratory Isolation…quite an experience for a Critical Care Nurse!

That said, there’s an online newsletter that I get from a somewhat unconventional doctor, whom I often, but not always, agree with. He says he will never take a flu shot. Dr. Sears, MD, says, “The effectiveness of the flu vaccine is exaggerated. The strains for the vaccine are selected a year in advance. That’s important for you to know because researchers guess on what strain will prevail each flu season. They have no other way of knowing. And if they guess wrong, the vaccine is useless.” You can read his whole letter on this topic by clicking here: http://www.alsearsmd.com/content/index.php?id=113

  5. Exactly, I have been doing some of my own ‘Dr. Google research’ – and I have never taken the flu shot. My oldest daughter takes the flu shot like a well seasoned subject and gets sick every year with the flu and has reactions from the shot. I only get the flu if I want a day off. 🙂 I feel almost pressed with this brainwashing of sorts to ‘take it.’ The agenda appears to be one that if health care workers (for instance) do not comply, then they are not protecting the people and they will need to wear the ‘mask.’ It’s ridiculous – bordering on creating a social stigma of hysteria. I mean really, let’s all get tested for MRSA and create some real hysteria. Can’t do that though, health care workers would be next to none. At this rate, Caucasions will be denied sun in lieu of skin cancer or pay dearly through the nose to get it. Thanks for the info, Mary.

  6. I see the order for dismissal for the bogus contempt charges on McCrory is in – finally – via ISTARS. Can you fill us in now, Bill? Can anyone elaborate? What did it say? After the fact, it was also entered as to who was subpeonaed as witnesses – including the prosecuter and county clerk; AND Star Kelso – not a wonder it was all ordered for the dismissal, can’t have any truth surface.
