Open Session: Last Day of 2010!

Filed under: Open Session — mary @ 11:17 am

In the midst of all the corruption news, we are ending the tumultuous year of 2010 with a stunningly beautiful winter day.  What a wonderful gift!

Do you have thoughts about the year 2010?  Is it a sad passing or good riddance?  Any particular memories?

  1. I think it’s pretty nifty that we’ve just had two over-100 comment posts in a week. That hasn’t happened in a long time, especially not outside of political season.

  2. Looking at this natural beauty, the sun sparkling on the snow rivaling any window Tiffany could produce, I am grateful to be reminded that the best things in life often are free. How could one be glum when nature has given us such a sight to behold.

I agree Dan, I was noting the number of posts and seeing just a few new names. I could hope that we wait for accurate information before appearing to rush to judgment on the embezzlement topic.

To all, may all of your 2011 be as glorious as today.

    Happy New Year!

  3. Happy New Year to everyone as well and to think before it was all over, HBO is actually giving recognition to Spencer for his public involvement! (that’s because Cindy is at the helm, not DFO)

Also, rochereau – my new resolution is to try to stay away from inappropriate language – I said I would try for you – but when it comes to corruption my manners go to the gutter, so I backslide. 🙁 More fun in the future!

Thanks to OpenCdA for an awesome forum and for intelligent and well researched information – without it the public would have more people with their heads in the sand!

  4. Dan… What is important is that Open CdA offers a forum for people to speak freely about issues sensitive to this city and county. This is why you have 100 comment threads and can expect more of them. You and your colleagues should take pride in keeping this venue open and civil (although I do not help in the latter). So congrats to you all and keep up the good work.

  6. Dan, I hope 2010 will be the year that Urban Renewal has spent it’s way into the hearts and minds of people to the point they are willing to push for much needed reform in the 2011 Legislative Session. We can only hope they figure out we really do need to vote on the district formation, lists of projects, board members and debts beyond one year.

It is a very cold, clear and sunny day in SW Idaho..

  7. I’ve been working on some personal stuff most of the day and haven’t had much of a chance to jump on here.

Happy new year, all. Thank you all for reading and commenting on OpenCdA.

  10. I hope everyone has a “Happy New Year”. I remember the first 100 comment thread that this forum had back in 2008 and was proud to be a part of it.

  11. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011

  12. Thank you to all of our commenters and readers. Together we are working for a better, more transparent, responsible government. 2010 was a good year, but it was one of great turbulence and upheaval. We stirred the pot, both locally and nationally with elections and related issues. I’m hoping 2011 will be a year of results; of some tangible signs that we are moving to a more common sense governance that is centered on doing the right thing for citizens.

We, at OpenCdA, will continue to strive for rational discussion of important topics. Please stick with us…we need you! Happy New Year to us All!
