Kootenai County Clerk Cliff Hayes has sent out a press release reminding voters about some of the peculiarities of the upcoming May 17 election.  They’re worth reading.

Voter Alert for Election Day, May 17

County residents going to their precincts on Election Day need to realize not every school trustee zone or highway commissioner zone will be on their ballot.

“Voters will be given the ballot for their specific residence address”, said Kootenai County Clerk Cliff Hayes. “Not all zones in either highway districts or school districts are up for election or being contested.”

Poll workers have been trained on this issue, and poll books list exactly which offices a voter is eligible to vote on.

“Color-coded maps at each precinct will help voters understand where trustee or commissioner zone boundary lines are. However, voters probably need to plan on taking a little more time at their precincts on May 17,” Hayes continued.

Absentee in-person voting is available at the Elections office, 1808 N. Third in Coeur d’Alene, through 5PM Friday, May 13.

  2. Are you trying to tell me that poll workers will be paying attention to what ballots are disributed in each precinct? Now that is a good idea. Will a record of which ballot the voter receives be kept?
