“The Congressman”

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 7:06 pm

Shown above is Ruger’s newest handgun named in honor of our legislators.  It’s called “The Congressman.”

It costs several million dollars, it makes a lot of noise,  but it is totally worthless.  It doesn’t work, and you can’t fire it.

  1. The mood of the country, from the left and the right, just might support a populist driven call for Federal term limits.

  2. Let’s start by voting out all who have been part of the problem or allowed the problem.

  3. Let’s start by voting out all who have been part of the problem or allowed the problem of them.

    Fixed that for you.

  4. Ancientemplar,

You may be right, and Dan’s method in comment 3 may prove to be the way term limits is applied. Let’s see how many of the Fools on the Hill decide not to seek re-election when their present terms are up.

  5. Very funny Dan! I thought about that but qualified it because of the new people who have tried to get some accountability. Without them, we’d be in a much bigger mess. And there are a few like Paul Ryan, Ron & Rand Paul, etc who have been constantly pushing for rational policy. Would you throw them out too?

  6. Absolutely. If Ron Paul has been in Congress for 24 years preaching the same message, then he’s been ineffective. Buh-bye.

  7. You know, there’s this nonsensical email floating around, resent by everyone over and over, about the “28th Amendment.” It contains some feel-good language that would never pass legal muster, but it’s a popular notion: Restrict the perks of congressmen.

Seriously, though, the 28th Amendment effort should be on one thing: TERM LIMITS. I would start negotiating on the people’s side by saying ONE. I have enough wiggle room to go to TWO, but I would need massive concessions from the political class. Maybe two terms if they repeal the 16th Amendment.
