Dems don’t Care

Filed under: General — mary @ 8:16 am

This morning’s Press had an article (though it reads like an opinion piece) about the Dems refusing to support the investigation of our County Election System.Too bad the Democrats can’t see the forest for the trees; Thom George is stuck in attack mode and is unable to grasp the importance of this issue for Democrats as well as everyone else.

What do you think about the Dems’ viewpoint?

Here’s the response I put on the Press web site:  (more…)

Cute Story…kind of

Filed under: Observations — mary @ 5:19 pm

Have you received your copy of the hospital’s magazine called “Kootenai Health”?  This quarter’s edition features an article called “A Reason to Dance”.  I love to dance and so does my husband, so I turned to that page and discovered a sweet story about an very mature couple who courted on the dance floor way back in 1938.  Now, at age 88, Loryane, the wife, has just had a total hip replacement surgery at KMC and is doing very well. But, as a couple, they are now able to go dancing again!

My thought, as I read this wonderful love story, was what would happen under the new OBAMA CARE regulations?  No way Loryane would get that expensive surgery at age 88. They would tell her she is too old to deserve that kind of investment, and others in the “system” deserve the “assets”.  Lorayne and her hubbie would just have to tough it out until she dies…probably sooner than later.

Are you looking forward to all the FABULOUS benefits of Health Care for ALL?

PS–Did I mention that the current head of KMC, Joe Morris, told the CdA Rotary Club, last year, that he believes totally in Universal Health Care?

Open Session, Tuesday

Filed under: Open Session — mary @ 2:29 pm

People are acting up!  It’s incredible to see regular folks stand up at their city council meeting and tell their elected officials what they really think!  Have you seen the news clips from the Bell, California meeting?  Remember, that’s the small city (the size of CdA) paying it’s City Administrator almost $800,000/year.  The news clips, now surfacing, show some bold language from the citizens.  Bill wrote a great post about it on this web site a few days ago (https://opencda.com/?s=Bell+California).

What would you say if your city officials were paid more than any other in the state and, in addition, the council still voted to raise your taxes?

Haven’t We Been Here Before…?

I see by the article in this morning’s Coeur d’Alene Press that the Coeur d’Alene Police Department wants to spend $2000-$2500 to put a video camera at Independence Point to, “…help police monitor the complaints received about loud parties, crimes and loitering that take place in the evening hours there…”

Wasn’t the $50,000 spent on Boopsie’s Bunker supposed to accomplish that by creating a “police presence” there?  (See my five-part “Toilet Not Included” series.)

When People Don’t Pay Attention…

Filed under: Probable Cause — Tags: — Bill @ 1:58 pm

The scandal that has erupted in the Los Angeles suburb of Bell, California, (population 38,000) is an example of how predatory, self-serving city officials will loot a city treasury if the townspeople trust them too much and don’t pay attention to what the folks at city hall are doing.

On Thursday night, the city’s Chief Administrative Officer (salary $800K), Police Chief (salary $457K), and Assistant City Manager (salary $376K) resigned after a contentious public meeting in front of irate townspeople.  Not surprisingly, the Mayor and City Council initially defended approving the outrageously high salaries, to which the townspeople responded, “Recall them, too!”  (more…)

–Taxes are going UP in CdA!  What a surprise. (Here’s a link to today’s Press article)

–KTEC, the new skills-focused high school to be shared by PF, CdA and Rathdrum School Districts, will be coming up for a levy vote on August 24th.  (Here’s a link to this morning’s Press column on KTEC)

What do you think?  Do you like the way local government is spending your money?

Who Decides When Violations Matter?

Here is a link to Friday’s Coeur d’Alene Press article headlined Affidavit:  Many ballot irregularities.   Please read the article carefully.  Further in the post is my affidavit with exhibits filed with the District Court in the Coeur d’Alene election contest (CV-09-10010).  After looking at both the article and my affidavit, here are some questions you may wish to consider asking of your elected state representatives and senators and your mayor and city council:

Voter Fraud USA

Filed under: General — mary @ 9:13 pm

It’s not just here in good ‘ole Coeur d’Alene, serious voter fraud is being uncovered in other places too.  By Democrats and Republicans.  Sloppy procedures, improper voters, outright illegal voters and highly questionable election systems.  Check out these  short video links:

The first one addresses the narrow 314 vote victory of comedian Al Franken for a US Senate seat from Minnesota.  New research shows that far more than 341 convicted FELONS  in that election.  Hmmm…here’s the link: http://thehuffingtonriposte.blogspot.com/2010/07/comedian-al-frankens-joke-on-us.html

The second short video deals with the 2008 Democrat Presidential Primary:  Hillary vs. Obama.  The documentary referenced in the video clip details serious voter intimidation at the polls, sloppy sign-in procedures and purposeful turning away of registered voters who might not vote for Obama.  It’s very good and worth the time. Here’s that link: http://www.breitbart.tv/new-documentary-charges-obama-stole-nomination-from-hillary/

And of course, you have probably been following the Black Panther voter intimidation case from the 2008 election, which has been in the conservative news quite a lot lately.  It is outrageous that the Dept. of Justice is not fair and even-handed when dealing with these cases.  Isn’t justice supposed to be blind?

Here’s a good link to that story: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203550604574361071968458430.html

Are you concerned about fair and accurate elections?

Open Session, Sunny Weekend

Filed under: Open Session — mary @ 9:37 am

Any thoughts you want to share on this gorgeous summer weekend?  Did you know our CdA streets are now “safer”, according to the front page of the CdA Press today?  But the quote from the Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company’s director ends with “We’ll see.”  What do you think?
