Water rates are going up! The reason? Conservation. The real reason? Well . . . post your theory here!

Toilet Not Included – Part 3

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 3:03 am
In Part 3 of this five-part series, we will suggest who will benefit most and who will benefit least from the City’s putting a precast concrete building in City Park, a building being promoted to inrease police presence in the Park. You may be surprised and you should be concerned about who really won and who really lost. You may want to read Part 1 and Part 2 first.

How ’bout Some Feedback?

Filed under: Observations — Dan Gookin @ 10:09 am

Listening
My heart was lifted this morning when I read in the CDA Press an article titled, “Mayor to get corridor feedback.” I popped-up my computer calendar to ensure that the date was clear and that I could attend. Such good news. Then I read the article.

Toilet Not Included – Part 2

Filed under: Probable Cause — Bill @ 5:00 am
Part 1 of this series of five posts provided an overview of why putting a precast concrete building in Coeur d’Alene City Park to be used as a public safety agency staging point is a bad idea. Part 2 will reveal the City’s flimsy explanation of why the building is needed.  You may begin to wonder why the City Council and the LCDC didn’t demand more information before voting to spend $50K to $60K of your money on this project.

Water, Water Everywhere…

Filed under: General — mary @ 8:39 pm

I am watching tonight’s City Council meeting on Channel 19. It is amazing. So many things to comment on, but the biggest point, at this time, is the water rates. City of Coeur d’Alene Special Projects Patch

Filed under: General — Bill @ 2:39 pm

A well-placed employee at Coeur d’Alene City Hell has informed OpenCdA.com that the City has started a special projects unit to thwart those pesky requests for public information.  The unit patch is pictured below.  Can anyone translate?

Spring Time Beach
It’s a wonderful, yet chilly, day in our mountain chalet. Are you going to go outside and enjoy the weather? I was going to rake leaves, but it’s difficult under 3 inches of snow.

Random thought: In the future, will phone lines going into a house be looked upon as quaintly as we look upon coal chutes today?

The Fog Lifts

What it's all about
Occasionally the veil must lift. At that time, we the peons who pay for it all are allowed to see what our leaders have seen all along. That’s because — to our benefit and their detriment — you cannot keep maneuvering behind the scenes all the time, especially in government.

Toilet Not Included – Part 1

It’s difficult to imagine that putting what is touted to be a public safety building in Coeur d’Alene City Park would be a serious misuse of public money, taxpayer dollars.  You need not imagine it.  It will be happening within about 90 days.
