I was amazed at Jon Mueller’s letter to the Editor in yesterday’s Press. He was obviously angry and wrote some things I’m sure he will regret. Jon’s connections with the City and the money he’s been granted by LCDC may have something to do with his frustration. (more…)

Open Session, Summer!
CdA is in full swing on this first day of summer. Good news: Joy Seward is holding her own as she recovers from her heart attack. Please keep those prayers flowing. I heard a rumor that the State Board of Education vote to hold up the lease agreement between the city and U of I was almost unanimous…only one vote to approve.
Any comments, suggestions, ideas?

Welcome to gorgeous Coeur d’Alene! What a beautiful summer day to lead into our busy Ironman Weekend. We are lucky to live in such a scenic spot and we are lucky to live in a country that protects our rights to speak out and expect our government to work for the people.
Let’s take a moment to review the mission of this web site. We are here to offer a respectful place to carry on rational discussions about our local issues. We expect everyone to keep the conversation out of the gutter of personal attacks. Dan, Bill and I all reserve the right to edit or pull any comments that are out of line, so please keep your sights up and your discussions constructive.
Any comments, suggestions or ideas? Anyone volunteering for Ironman?

What in the heck is going on with Post Falls? First they move into their beautiful new City Hall. Now they are possibly bumping their Urban Renewal Agency out of the new building, plus they just fired their Community Development Director. Something’s happening here…what it is ain’t exactly clear… (can you remember who sang that old song? They’re pictured above.)
Don’t forget–tonight the CdA City Council gives, oh I mean, “leases for 99 years”, the Harbor Center building and its 7.5 acres to U of I. The action starts at 6pm in the Community Room at the new Library.

Open Session, Monday
Gorgeous weather today, a terrific Father’s Day weekend to savor and many upcoming activities for the week ahead.
The CdA City Council meets Tuesday at 6:00pm in the Community Room, downstairs in the new Library. This will be their meeting to approve leasing the Harbor Center to U of I for 99 years.
Ironman is this weekend. I hear rumor that if the lake water doesn’t heat up quite a bit this week, they may cancel the swim portion of the event.
Any comments, questions or ideas?

Downtown Coeur d’Alene is abuzz with activity. The Sorensen PTA is hosting a parking lot fundraiser at the old Kerr Oil location by Memorial Field and the parking lot is already full! Lots of things going on downtown, and it’s a beautiful day. If you end up stuck inside (like I am), what’s on your mind?

There’s a buzz in the air. The school district wants to hold a public meeting next Tuesday, which could be a good time for constructive conversation. Any other upcoming events? Comments, questions, ideas?
